COMMITMENT

“Fail to plan and you will plan to fail,” as the saying goes. Keep the  monthly calendar on your fridge. That way, every morning when you get up and walk into the kitchen, you’ll see what your daily workout is that day. Treat this as an important—a cannot-be-missed meeting. It’s that important; and yes, you are worth it. You can always switch up the workout and go for a run, play tennis with a girlfriend or get on your bike.

DYNAMIC WORKOUTS

Dynamic, explosive workouts—what experts refer to as “power” or “reactive” training—use leaps and bounds and jumps and throws to build functional strength and boost your athleticism. They also engage more muscles with every rep and teach your nervous system to recruit those muscles faster, which helps burn more calories during your workout—and for hours after as well. Consider them your express ticket to a humming metabolism and a lean, strong bod.

Many of my home workouts include burst of dynamic exercises! On top of my home workouts you can also add your own sprints, HIIT moves like squat jumps or burpees, or get creative wherever you are this summer.

CLEAN FRESH SUMMER EATING

Eating clean to me is 80% of the time, I eat organic, sugar free, real whole food that is preferably local. We know that restriction is a thing of the past so eat an abundant diet chocked full of life giving fruits and veggies, organic pasture raised meat, and healthy fats. 

In summer, Mother Earth provides all the sweetness we need in fruit form! If you are avoiding processed sugars and foods, than eating extra peaches, mangos and berries are not going to tip the scale. Instead they boost our immunity, cleanse our bodies and make us feel good.

I understand that you don’t want eat only zucchini and raw nuts and seeds all day everyday tho.. When you do indulge, do so mindfully. The stress and guilt that can come from being afraid of “failing” your diet is way worse for you than the actually handful of chips. Don’t allow yourself to feel bad for enjoying a piece of cake, you deserve it.

MINDFUL SPIRITUALITY

I believe we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. Therefore we are all spiritual by nature. Personally, the act of personal growth and transformation is the greatest act of spirituality as it requires us to look inwards and develop a present state of awareness to heal and move forwards.

This is why I keep encouraging you all to adopt a spiritual practice or routine. It doesn’t have to be you sitting down to pray or meditate. It could look like a solo walk sans phone in the woods, some quiet journalling time in the am, a ritual with crystals or sage, drawing or art, or gardening. ANYTHING that gets you out of your “thinking” and “doing” brain and into the seat of consciousness or as “the witness”.

I know from my year of training with Moment Meditation that the science really backs the spirituality. Meditation and mindfulness is so good for our bodies, brains and spirits. 

Please include some sort of mindful practice into your summer routine and stay consistent with it!

It will prove to be the missing link that you have been looking for! 

The further I step into my own spiritual growth and self development, the more capable I am of navigating challenging days.
