Bliss Balls are all the rage right now, and for good reason! They satisfy your sweet tooth while being packed with nutritious ingredients. I mean they’re the perfect afternoon pick-me-up or post workout snack. They are also easy to make AND they store in the fridge or freezer for weeks (not that they ever last that long)!!!

I have recently been trying new recipes to use up my Raw Maca Powder such as Maca Lattes, Maca Smoothies and Maca Oats…. But this Bliss Ball recipe take’s the cake! These beauties are super tasty, high in protein, filled with superfoods and well, just heavenly.

A quick look at RAW MACA POWDER. Maca Root is similar to Chia in the sense that it has been around and used for thousands of years. Maca root contains significant amounts of amino acids, carbohydrates, and minerals including calcium, phosphorous, zinc, magnesium, iron, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and E. It also has a significant amount of protein:) But the suggested serving is small, no more than a few teaspoons a day is what is recommended.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 cup of soft medjool dates (approx 10)
  • 1 cup of large flaked organic oats
  • 1/4 cup of pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup of cashewsimg_5271
  • 1/4 cup of raw almond butter (could sub any nut butter)
  • 1 tbsp of maca powder (could sub any protein powder)
  • 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp of cinnamon
  • a pinch of sea salt

WHAT TO DO

Although there is a long list of ingredients to make these so perfectly balanced… prepping them is easy! Add all ingredients (make sure to melt your coconut oil) to your food processor and blend until it gets sticky and dough like. Then roll into balls, place on a plate or cookie sheet and put in the freezer to set for minimum 30 minutes. Then feel free to store in the fridge.

This recipe made 18 average bliss balls. Because they are so nutrient dense, I like them on the smaller side otherwise it feels like a meal!
