Mindfulness.
You’ve heard a lot about it, but what exactly is it? It’s a mental state in which you focus on awareness and the present moment. Mindfulness is simple, yet it takes a lot of practice. When you do everything more mindfully, you ground and center yourself, gain perspective and see the world more clearly. You develop a sense of respect for who you really are and realize you were always the expert at what makes you happy, you just got distracted by life.
This manual will be the start of your month long (and hopefully life long) dive into mindfulness and awakening your consciousness.
A quick note about my journey.
As many of you know, I have been on my own personal growth journey over the past several years. I realized that to be a great leader and influencer, I needed to be true to myself. But which self? My personal trainer self, my old dancer self, my yogi self, my mom self?
These are all nice titles and have stories to go with them but I had wanted to go beyond the stories and titles and really share the most authentic version of my self in order to help women.
Starting with my yoga teacher training and continuing on with meditation, I have peeled back the layers (and still have so much farther to go) of my built up persona and feel like now, more than ever, I am me.
I was the one creating drama in my life, I was the one being hard of myself, I was the one who was scared of rejection. My inner critic was a bitch and never gave me a break!
Now I am working to free myself of my inner critic and mental melodrama. Yes, I still have days where my inner critic seems to win and I feel bad for X<Y<Z, but I also have days where I am zen, calm and happy. I go beyond my mental cage that I had built up all these years and feel free and expanded. I interact with each day with a peaceful, fully open heart.
This might all sound like to much for you or a bit woo woo. And I’m ok with that too.
I really hope that this month comes at a time that you are ready to receive it. If you are already closing off and think this isn’t for you, I want you to think…”what is there to lose?”
Be open and non-judgemental. That is all it takes to start a mindfulness practice☺
The calendar along with the You Tube workouts will be pinned to the top of the Facebook Forum.
