“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories… water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom.” ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
So often we find ourselves waiting for others to define our stories; to validate our experiences and who we identify to be. We allow for others to weave our stories into existence, instead of calling forward our truths. Do you know in the deepest place of your existence, that you are more than enough? Your strength exists within you, it is your wisdom, the same wisdom that calls us to be great mothers and partners and providers for this world.
As women, we often seek external validation…I can only be strong if someone acknowledges my progress. What would it be like to allow that validation to exist within? I declare that I am strong, I know it in my bones, I know it physically by the way I can pick up my children and I know the strength of my own heart by the capacity for me to love unconditionally.
It is to be said that once we say things out loud, they are to be true. I was always fascinated by folklore, as the tales were often beyond realistic experiences, however, I would sit and listen and reflect, “yes, that woman was strong”. We are the authors of our story, what do you want yours to say?
My guidance to you is to speak three truths out loud, and instead of saying “I wish” or “I pray”, change your language to a voice of declaration…”I AM”
I am loved
I am enough
I am strong
I am kind
I am unstoppable
